About Aevitas

“Aevitas” in Latin means “Everlasting” and we believe that Motherhood is an everlasting new beginning for many women who embark on this transformational journey towards parenthood.

We aim to help new parents in overcoming the challenges of early parenthood, as well as help organizations benefit from a more productive women’s workforce. Empowering women to maintain a work-life balance and providing them with an atmosphere of holistic growth from within an organization is proven to be the best course of action for an expectant mother and her new child, as well as an organization’s growth in the long term.

At times, a pregnant mother can be unable to handle the prior working conditions or fully re-establish herself back at her workplace post-pregnancy. During maternity and post-delivery, a woman must deal with not only physical, but hormonal and emotional changes as well. Depression, questioning of self-identity and self-worth, lack of confidence and unable to bring one’s self to seek or find the necessary support often impairs a new mom’s performance at work. A pregnant woman’s ability to stay focused and be productive at work is also affected as each trimester brings new sets of challenges.

Additionally, a new mom is consciously aware that her career progression may be affected due to upcoming Maternal Leave, and then-after. For Organizations striving to foster and maintain equality, it is imperative that efforts to retain women post-pregnancy are not cut short. Seeing talented women return and continue to develop is a necessary step toward mending the imbalance of women in senior leadership roles.

“A new mother is a powerhouse of energy, if only one knows how to help her channel her inner potential constructively.” – Nityashri Bhatt Shah, Founder Aevitas

About Founder

Nityashri is an Industrial & Organizational Psychology Consultant that has long dealt with institutions about organizational change, performance management, talent development, and employee training, motivation and well-being. Her own journey into pregnancy gave her an insight into a corporate organization’s lost resource of retaining Women Talent post-pregnancy. She had come to realize that maternity at work had a tremendous oversight and was in dire need of a cultural shift.

Working directly with HR and teams, Nityashri noticed there was a lack of methodology in providing personal support for new parents or mothers returning to work post pregnancy. To ensure that support and understanding for new mothers is firmly established in the organization’s culture, Nityashri was led to design her own specialized thought project to provide companies and new parents the opportunity to be part of a transformational journey. It starts with transforming the Company’s Culture to that of a Supporting Culture for protecting New Mothers from hitting the Maternal Wall.

“I wasn’t prepared despite all the books, videos and information sessions I attended on the New Born. I wonder if anyone is ever truly prepared. But although I did not know all there was on how to be a mother, the one thing I knew for sure was How to Work. And I came to question… Why should the fact that I will be a mother dictate what I, a woman in this new age am capable of once I have given birth to my blessed child?

So while I absolutely cherish, love and admire the millions of amazing moms who choose to stay at home, for me, I had to look onward. I knew that I wanted to get back to work and be someone that exists to their fullest potential…. And I know there are many more out there like me who also share this feeling…”
